As a Círculo de poetas & Writers Intern, I would like to learn new experiences and gain new skills. I am majoring in Political Science at Cabrillo College, and I would love to double major in Spanish after I transfer to a 4-year college or university. In the Fall semester at Cabrillo, I discovered what a creative writer I am. Not only will this internship help me gain new skills, but it will also help me improve my writing. I am in the Honors Program at Cabrillo, which is a program for highly motivated students who want to challenge themselves academically. I enrolled in this program because I knew I could go above and beyond in my writing. I plan to be a lawyer to give back to my community and help people in need.

AnneMarie "Amz" Miles is a mother, a published poet, a children’s music teacher, and a forever student. She will receive her AA in Psychology from Cabrillo College in Fall 2023, while still pursuing her AA in English. In her future, she sees a BA in Creative Writing, a writing career, and a library to call her own. When she learned about Circulo, Amz jumped at the opportunity to work with and learn from other creative writers. If Amz isn’t writing, she’s usually singing and dancing, or buried in a book somewhere, completely unavailable to world.

I applied for the Círculo de poetas & Writers Internship to meet new people and learn new experiences. Currently, I attend Cabrillo College. I enrolled at Cabrillo to stay close to my family. In addition, as a first-generation student, I wanted to see how college worked and what I will need to transfer. My major is Nursing. Since I was little, I always wanted to be a registered nurse to help people with their health. I plan to graduate in two years and transfer to a four-year university. I am creative, kind, and respectful to other people.
Clarice Velazquez is a 2nd-year undergraduate at Cabrillo College, looking to transfer with an associate's degree in psychology. They hope to develop a career in high school counseling. Clarice enjoys freestyle BMX and Mixed Martial Arts. They are passionate about furthering experiences and collaborating with the community.
When I heard about the Circulo de Poetas internship, I was ecstatic because not only would I be working with my close friends from the Puente Project, but I would also be gaining more experience on how to be more professional when assisting others. I enjoy performing free writings and writing out my emotions since it helps me relax, and now that I will be a part of this internship, it may push me to express my opinions.
I am a first-generation college student. This is my second year at Cabrillo College, and I am studying to be a part of the Medical Field with the goal of becoming an RN (Registered Nurse). It was difficult to choose a major because we are all talented in a variety of areas, but the Medical Field stuck out to me the most because I enjoy assisting others. I am grateful for this internship because it will provide me with valuable experience in becoming more professional and interacting with others.
